Last time we mentioned that there are over 300 rural libraries in WI, and this month we learned that one of them became a finalist for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service! Hooray, Wisconsin!
McMillan Memorial Library, in Wisconsin Rapids, is among 15 libraries that are being nationally recognized and celebrated for their outstanding service to their community. Each year, the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) selects museums and libraries with the nation’s highest honor. What exactly is IMLS? Good question. Shauna and Steev discuss IMLS and library funding and Shauna talks to Andy Barnett, Director of the McMillan Memorial Library, about their library and how they came to be finalists for the National Medal.
Congratulations again to McMillian Public Library!
